Anticipatory Governance (Anticipatory Governance) is an area that has long drawn great attention from the Government, research agencies as well as universities around the world. In 2020, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Viet Nam opened a training course on anticipatory governance with the participation of several members from the Faculty of Planning and Development. Realizing this is a substantial topic, also included in the framework of the UNDP-funded project, the Faculty of Planning and Development implemented a sub-project to improve teaching capacity of faculty members as well as experts from ministries and agencies. The aim of the subproject is to provide knowledge, tools and training materials on anticipatory governance to teachers, to assist the development of modules on the training program. In addition, the subproject also assists designing short-term training courses for planners of the state using modern strategic planning tools of anticipatory governance. The first session provided the basics of anticipatory governance and attracted a great deal of interest from the trainees. This will be an important foundation for the faculty to build a new subject, complete an economic development program towards modernization, integration and better serve the needs of sustainable development planning and governance.
