No software\/installation required, participants will just need to click on the link provided to join the workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Workshop Topics:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp; Creating a&nbsp; Community of Inquiry Online by building social, teaching, and cognitive presence<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Social presence is the ability of participants to identify with the community (e.g., course of study), communicate purposefully in a trusting environment, and develop inter-personal relationships by ways of projecting their individual personalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp; Teaching Presence is the design, facilitation, and direction of cognitive and social processes to realize personally meaningful and educationally worthwhile learning outcomes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Cognitive Presence is the extent to which learners can construct and confirm meaning through sustained reflection and discourse<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Facilitating social, teaching, and cognitive presence in online teaching environments<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; this section offers practical suggestions professors can use to build these presences in their courses<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.&nbsp; The fundamental ways humans learn<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; this section outlines the six ways humans engage in learning<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Facilitating human learning through the use of&nbsp; digital and conventional technologies<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; this section contrasts and provides suggestions on how digital and conventional technologies can be used to support learning<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Open Educational Resources<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; this part provides participants with open and free to use resources they can use to facilitate online and\/or in-class learning<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pre-workshop self-study materials<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before the workshop, Humber would provide the participants with pre-reading\/self-study materials before the live workshop.
